Kathy Crowther's work reflects her love for nature.  Viewers are invited to look at the world as she does - through her watercolors.  Detailed studies of nature painted in gouache and outlined in ink uniquely render flora and fauna in their natural habitat.  Brilliant color combinations bring joy and excitement to her works which are filled with the echoes and inter-relationships of pattern, shape and color.  Borders and painting onto the mat have become a trademark that add to the instant recognition of her extraordinary style. 

Life is a puzzle, and Kathy’s artwork attempts to put that puzzle together.  Positive and negative space  play a large role in the balance and design of each study.   A fluid, motion-like, feeling leads the observer from one portion of the image to the next.  Like nature, her paintings depict a profusion of color  and a sense of continual growth.

Kathy begins each day with a cup of coffee and a paint brush.  Painting is a celebration of life and a discovery of the beauty that surrounds us all.
